Again this year, on the occasion of the Month of fight against addiction and the World Day against HIV/AIDS, our organisation held testing and counselling for prisoners and employees at the Prison Bilice in Split on Wednesday, 3 December 2014. Testing and counselling was done in collaboration with the Institute of Public Health of Split - Dalmatia County, Dr. Branka Jurcevic - Zidar from the Department of Mental Health, prevention and outpatient addiction treatment.

13 prisoners and employees responded to testing for hepatitis C and HIV.

International fight against addiction month is being is held in the period from 15 November to 15 December. The aim of marking is to alert the general public to the problem of abuse of all forms of addictive drugs in particular, and to encourage all parts of society to take action to fight drug abuse and addiction.

World Day Against HIV / AIDS has been held since 1988, on the initiative of the World Health Organization (WHO) on the first day of the month of December in order to raise public awareness about the disease. Also, to express solidarity with the suffering, to influence the reduction of stigma and discrimination and to draw attention to the dangers of risky behaviour and the spread of the HIV pandemic. Organizing such events each year focuses attention on that global public health problem.
